Business 101

Saw a Nova special on the Concorde Jet, and there was one quote in the program that I found really intriguing. Apparently they began to put the Concorde project in the black by raising prices sharply in the late 70's...but it was the way they did it that was interesting...

"We realized passengers of the Concorde rarely knew how much they were paying for their tickets. Then we surveyed them, and found that most believed they were paying more than the actual ticket price. So we just raised our prices to what they thought they had already been paying."

Man, so you just need to find something people are buying without really knowing what the cost is, and then jack up the price. Business 101.
